Marcos Napolitano

Marcos Napolitano has a PhD (1999) and a master's degree (1994) in Social History from the University of São Paulo, where he also graduated in History (1985). He is a CNPq productivity fellow (1C). He was a professor in the Department of History at the Federal University of Paraná (Curitiba), between 1994 and 2004, and a visiting professor at the Institute of Higher Studies in Latin America (IHEAL) at the University of Paris III (2009) and at the University of Santiago de Chile ( 2018 and 2020).
He is currently Full Professor of History of Independent Brazil and advisor in the Social History Program at USP. Specialist in the period of Republican Brazil, with an emphasis on the military regime, and in the area of cultural history, focusing on the study of the relationship between history and audiovisual.
